macaroni

1/4 cup {57 g}

butter

1/4 cup {31 g}

flour

3 cup {732 g}

milk

1 tsp {1.2 g}

dijon mustard

1/2 tsp {3.0 g}

salt

1/2 tsp {1.5 g}

pepper

pinch

of nutmeg

MacLaren’s Imperial Cheese - 1 package/tub

1/2 cup {113 g}

butter

1 cup {108 g}

bread crumbs

Extra add ons: -grated cheese (cheddar) quantity depends on level of cheesiness desired anywhere from .5-1.5 cups -broccoli florets (cut small) blanched - about 1.5 to 2 cups -ham cut into small cubes - 1 - 1.5 cups

Preheat oven to 350F/176C. Grease a casserole dish. Boil macaroni al dente.

Melt butter on medium-low heat. Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes. Whisk in milk, mustard, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Increase heat to medium and stir until mixture boils and thickens. Melt cheese in- after MacLarens mix in grated cheese if desired. Mix sauce with pasta (and any other add ons) and place in casserole dish. Melt 1/4 cup butter and mix with bread crumbs for topping on casserole. Bake for 30 mins.
