Yellow Split Pea Soup
Saute over medium low heat with a little bit of oil and salt until softened. 10 minutes.

Add:
carrots,diced ( we want the carrots to be able to hold their shape) |

split yellow peas |
|
pepper, |
|
bay leaf, |
|
thyme, |
|
boiling liquid from picnic ham any LARGE bones from picnic roast (small bones requires work to find them again…) |

of diced/shredded ham. |
Simmer 1-2 hours, or 10-20 minutes under high pressure.
Fish out bay leaves, bones. Add any extra water if necessary, process with stick blender if necessary. Add more diced ham if necessary.

2016-02-29 After about 20 minutes in the high pressure cooker, the split peas are completely mushy, and no blender is required. Add all the ham at the beginning. |
